Well done Team India..in the first two ODIs against England. The aproach shown by the men in blue was exceptional both with the bat and the ball, with fielding too helping the cause. Good to see young Umesh Yadav bowling at such good pace regularly, a bright fast bowling prospect for India in the coming future. Spinners too did their job well. Both Ashwin and Jadeja were outstanding with the ball, though the no-due condition at RGICS, HYD helped them to greater extent. Dhoni and Raina batted really well in the first ODI, with Dhoni starting from where he left off in England, displaying all the shots in his armour. It was Virat and Gambhir's turn in the second ODI to do the well calculated, risk free chasing against already subdued and shrugged englishmen. England showed little energy and enthusiasm neither with bowling nor in fielding in the latter parts of the indian innings. Indian team showed glimpses of their pre-world cup form so far in this series. Absence of senior players with in the team didnt seem to affect them much, as they had shown that, there is enough bench strength in the team.
Well, the selection of Robin Uthappa for one off T-20 tournament is a good move, considering that the maverick batsman has been in good touch with the bat in the recently concludued domestic tournament. Now the onus is on the batsman to conolidate his place in the team, as a specialist opener. He needs to show consistency at the highest level to be selected for future fixtures. It seems he has matured with the age, but needs to control the urge to go after the bowling all the time, no matter how the conditions are playing.
